Seriously! Admob is the WORST user experience I have ever had. Its user experience is at par with a restaurant selling stale fish in a third world country.

I have been trying to get in touch with them for OVER A YEAR for two payments that were not converted into orders and credited to my account. And I'm a customer that spends ~$100k/year. This is one time I find it impossible to contain my language - A* H*'s !!! I hope they get burnt to the size of a NY hot dog vendor.

I have a similar problem. I can't got my ad approved, I've been waiting for 3 weeks instead of 1-2 days as they promise but without any result. So I decided to contact them via help form but 3 days passed and I haven't even received auto-response that my ticket was registered. I have sent another one ticket recently with demand of refund although I think result will be the same - looks like they just ignores customters complains.
What a nuisance but AdMob are acting like fraudsters.

Hi i have been trying to get an ad on admob now for 2 weeks. They send the usual autoresponders telling me that my ad is with the review team as we speak but still no ad appears. It appalls me that google who will not allow any site to be placed on their search network without proper contact info is allowed to behave in this fashion and have no contact info anywhere, no phone, no email no nothing for the customers they seem to be fleecing..

Off the top of my head, I would easily pay $200 on top, maybe more if it came down to it. It should be possible to pass on my hotel & air tickets to someone else traveling, both allow name changes.

That is all well and good in hindsight, but going into the event, what would possess a scalper to buy a ticket when last year it took 50 days to sell out?

That's typically not how scalping works.

The value of the tickets are only potentially worth a lot now because nobody predicted they'd be sold out so fast, including any possible scalpers.

You guys aren't thinking very clearly.

And just to confirm my response above, if somebody were to offer a ticket for sale, how much would you be willing to pay beyond the original price?

Do you really think anybody who bought a ticket (either $150 academia, or $450 regular) won't be able to sell if for a profit in the coming months? It wouldn't surprise me at all to see people ultimately paying twice what the ticket originally cost.

And if they get free stuff in the mail, so much the better, but they'll profit no matter what.

I was that idiot from Dublin, Ireland who put the cart before the horse. I knew it would sell out, but not in an hour! Last year I missed the registration. On emailing googleio2010 I got the message "try again next year"!
I do feel that opening the registration outside european office hours was unfair. Google is a global company & there is only one Google IO conference each year.

If anyone is not traveling please can I have your ticket. Whilst of course I would love a free phone, that is not why I want to attend, so I am willing to pass any freebies on!

Only about 5% of the Google IO goers got Nexus ones as the gift - you had to be non US based.

I hardly think that is reason enough for the swarm. You had to be in a few very specific situations to actually profit from either attending and selling the gifts or not attending and selling the gift.

Between Ebay fees and paypal fees, you're not looking at much profit - I doubt a nexus one was worth more than $550 at the time (considering you could buy one unlocked from Google for $525). To say that "...on May 10, 2011 the Moscone Centre in San Francisco will sport mostly empty seats..." is a bold statement, with very little evidence to back it.

I think this post was poorly thought out.

A phone is a phone, and the Nexus One I got was worth more than the value of the ticket I purchased. I could have just stayed home and viewed the sessions online. I am aware that Android is becoming more popular, but I doubt that alone would cause such a rush.
